Weymouth Child Family Community Center
Enriching Family Life Through Education and Play
The Weymouth Child Family Community Center provides support to families and children from before birth through school
age. We provide access to comprehensive services,child development information, and educational opportunities to support
you in your role as your child’s first teacher. The Weymouth Child Family Community Center is a grant program funded by the Massachusetts
Department of Early Education and Care and is administered by the Weymouth Public Schools. There is a $75 family registration fee to attend the Weymouth Child Family Community Center.

Drop In Playgroups - Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:45-10:15, Staff plans optional activities that target developmental milestones,thematic
curriculum,and MA Early Learning Standards. The playgroup ends with a structured circle time featuring developmentally appropriate
stories,songs,and fingerplays. Caregivers are expected to participate with their children and model appropriate behaviors. This is an
opportunity for families to meet other parents and to provide a social and learning environment for the child. Appropriate for children from
birth through school age.
North Story Hour -Tuesdays from 1:15-2:00, North Library, 220 North St. No, Weymouth.
Fogg Story Hour - Mondays from 9:30-10:15, Fogg Library, 1 Columbian Square. So. Weymouth. This story hour co-sponsored by the
Weymouth Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant and the Weymouth Tufts Library is designed to develop early language and
literacy skills through everyday interactions such as sharing books, storytelling, singing songs, and fingerplays, to help foster that lifelong love
of reading. Come join us to learn about all the wonderful books, programs and resources our public library has to offer during this fun filled
story hour. Appropriate for children birth to age 5.
Making Music - Mondays from 11:15-12:00, Enjoy 45 minutes of fun songs,musical instruments and finger plays as your child explores movement
and rhythm. Appropriate for children of all ages.
Grandparents Drop In -Wednesdays from 12:45-1:45, Whether you are raising your grandchildren, providing daycare or just want to spend a
fun hour with your grandchildren, this group is for you. Appropriate for children birth to school age.
Infant Group -Fridays from 12:15-12:45, We will spend time bonding and celebrating all the mile-stones that happen during these early years.
This program is appropriate for expecting and new moms. Siblings are welcome.
Weekly Sign-Up Activities
*Ball Pit Fun @ EI - Thursdays from 1:00-2:00, Meet your friend a t First Early Intervention, 574 Main St. So. Wey. We will use our large
muscle groups playing in their motor room, at the Ball Pit, and, in the outside play space during nice weather. Appropriate for age’s prenatal
through age 3, and is limited to 10 participants.
*ASQ Birthday Screenings -This quick developmental screening is a great opportunity for families to see where their children are, see the
growth that has occurred, and get some great ideas of what to expect in the coming months and how they can support development. This
screening is appropriate for children birth through age 5.
*Sunshine Group -Fridays, from 12:45-1:45, This playgroup is designed to offer families a smaller, and less crowded playgroup experience. It is
a great program for children who can be easily overwhelmed during the drop-in playgroups and as a result are not attending them. This
playgroup is shorter in duration, more structured, and less crowded. The goal of this playgroup is to work on social skills in a more manageable
setting. Caregivers will learn strategies supporting these skills and how they can use these strategies in the drop-in playgroups. Appropriate
for children birth to school age, and is limited to 10 participants.
*Mindful Movements -Tuesdays, 9:15-10:00, This fun movement program will help your child develop fundamental physical skills and school
readiness skills. Each week we will read a story and practice fun movements to go along with the story, while stressing the importance of
repetition. Children have an opportunity to be aware of their breath and focus on their body while stretching and strengthening their muscles.
Appropriate for children ages 2years-4 years, and is limited to 12 participants.
Cohort Sign Up Programs
*Toddler Group -Thursdays, from 9:30-10:15, Families will be able to learn about The Department Of Early Education and Cares Guidelines
through interactive hands on, developmentally appropriate activities with their child. Be ready to play, read, sing, dance,and create! This 5 week
program is appropriate for children ages 16 months to 2.9 years and is limited to 10 participants
* Preschool Prep - Mondays, from 12:45-1:45, This 4 week program prepares children and families for the routines and structure found in a
preschool setting, for example, waiting your turn, sitting in a circle and sharing. Appropriate for 3-4 year olds who are currently not
enrolled in a daycare or preschool setting.
